Our firefighters remain active even when not on emergency calls. Some things they do are non-emergency calls; hydrant checks; driver training; area familiarization; area coverage for busy areas.
Why do the firefighters drive fire trucks to the store?
We never know when or where an emergency call will be and so the best way to be prepared is to always have everything together.

What is the Fire Explorer Cadet Program?
The Deltona Fire Explorer Cadet Program is a youth-based, educational program designed to introduce youth ages 14-20 into the career field of fire and emergency medical services. The program will instruct the members in Emergency Medical Response, CPR, Fire Fighter I level training, Community Emergency Response, and Awareness level of Terrorism and Hazardous Materials.
When does the Fire Explorer Cadet Program meet?
The meetings take place every Tuesday night from 6:30 pm to 9:30 pm at Fire Station 62, located at 320 Diamond St. in Deltona.
What level of training do the Fire/Rescue personnel have?
The minimum level of training required for entrance into the Deltona Fire Department is High School Diploma or GED, Valid Florida Driver’s License, Florida State Certified Firefighter, Florida State Certified Emergency Medical Technician or Paramedic. The Paramedics and EMT’s receive ongoing training in the latest emergency medical trends and treatments.
How can I get a copy of my fire and medical report?
If we responded to your medical or fire emergency, a copy of our reports can be obtained by stopping by the administrative offices of the Fire Department at 1685 Providence Blvd. and completing a Request for Public Records Form. Medical reports require the person named, or the parent if a juvenile, to obtain the report.
